Multimedia Instructional Design (MMID) provides a full range of Multimedia, e-learning and blended learning solutions including Interactive training CD-ROMs/DVDs, Customer/ visitor information CD-ROMs/DVDs, kiosks, Web based and Intranet based training modules, Blended learning content development , Product simulations and Instructional Design services. Customers include DELL, Aer Lingus, Bulmers and many more.

Case Study:
The project consists of a DVD business card project for DELL Europe, Middle East and Africa. The multilingual DVD uses a 3D interactive model of the DELL Limerick Manufacturing Facility to access video clips about the selected area. This promotional tool is sent to DELL's key corporate accounts as a teaser to invite them to Ireland to visit the 'DELL Customer Experience Centre'.

Real World Benefit of 3D:
DELL was looking for an innovative way to present information. They wanted to impress their customer with an extra 'wow' factor. Both the media (DVD business card) and video content is already quite impressive but the 3D model/navigation really put it all together.

Goals: Swift 3D helped to produce impressive interactive navigation with a small footprint. Although the chosen medium is DVD business card, squeezing 6 videos in 4 languages and a number of interactive presentations on it was quite a challenge.

Product Feature:
3D drawings of the DELL Limerick factory were supplied to us in print format. The prints were scanned and imported into flash for a 'simplification process' and the 2D outlines exported for use in 3DS max. The Swift 3D rendering engine allowed us to test a number of rendering styles very quickly. The clean export to swf means less time is spent in Flash cleaning up and more time is spent focusing on interactivity.
