Adobe
and Electric Rain Expand Design Possibilities
for Creating Engaging Sites With LiveMotion
and Swift 3D |
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ --Adobe
Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE), the leader
in digital publishing for Web, print and dynamic
media, today announced an alliance with Electric
Rain, Inc.(R) that will make it easier than ever
to create vector-based 3D images and animations
for the Web. Adobe's award-winning Adobe(R) LiveMotion(TM)
software and Electric Rain's newly announced Swift
3D(TM) software work together to deliver engaging
3D content for the Web in the popular Flash (SWF)
file format.
"Using Swift 3D and LiveMotion, we're creating
an interactive, true 3D Web site for our client
TonicWav.com, a company developed by animators
for animators that distributes license-free music
and sound loops," said Justin Havlick, executive
vice president for Zeitgeist Inc., a creative
communications company located in Boulder, CO.
"Swift 3D and LiveMotion work exceedingly
well and easily together, enabling us to create
animated 3D elements much more quickly than using
other 3D and animation software packages. Without
these two products, creating true 3D animated
objects would be prohibitively time-consuming.
We now have a new creative avenue that allows
us to develop Web sites that really enhance user
experience, including loads of interactivity and
eye-catching 3D."
LiveMotion and Swift 3D makes it easy for Web
designers to quickly create quality 3D images
and animations without excessive file sizes. Designers
can create a shape in a 3D modeling tool such
as 3D Studio Max and bring it into Swift 3D for
modification, or directly create the model within
Swift 3D. The object can then be exported from
Swift 3D as consecutive EPS files, and brought
into LiveMotion. Once the object is in LiveMotion,
the designer can apply additional animation and
interactivity to the object before exporting to
SWF.
"The Web sites that stand out in the crowd
are those that push the envelope and effectively
utilize technical advancements such as 3D and
animation," said Mike Soucie, president of
Electric Rain. "The combination of Swift
3D and LiveMotion offers Web designers a powerful
solution for creating cutting edge sites that
attract and retain visitors, providing for a visually
engaging and compelling Web site experience."
"As today's Web sites are becoming increasingly
interactive and dynamic, the demand for advanced
multimedia Web authoring tools is booming,"
said Michael Ninness, group product manager for
Adobe's Internet Products Group. "We are
committed to delivering innovative tools to help
our customers take their ideas to the next level.
This includes working closely with our partners
to provide integrated solutions that extend the
capabilities of our products, and the relationship
between LiveMotion and Swift3D is a great example
of that philosophy."
LiveMotion extends Adobe's integrated suite of
professional Web production products by giving
Web designers and developers a flexible tool for
creating high-impact, interactive graphics and
engaging animations for the Web. Electric Rain's
Swift3D is a vector based 3D authoring tool enabling
designers to quickly create 3D images from fonts,
basic 3D primitives, and existing 3D models in
the SWF format. For more information about Adobe
